A
Children's Literature Roundtable (CLRT) is an assembly
of enthusiasts who believe in quality literature for
young people. A CLRT exists to share and discuss good
books, to meet local, national, and international
authors and illustrators for young people, to encourage
Canadian talent, as well as to promote reading and
publishing. CLRT was started by Ron Jobe and other
librarians in Edmonton in 1977, and has become a national
organization with active Children's Literature Roundtables
all across Canada, from coast to coast. Current members
include parents, teachers, teacher-librarians, public
librarians, authors, illustrators, editors, professors,
booksellers, publishers, and university students.
Edmonton's Roundtable Executive meets once a year
to plan the year's agenda. If you have ideas for possible
CLRT presenters, please speak to a member of the Executive…
or better yet join the Executive!
